Living Is So Beard Challenge

Living Is So Big April_A writes "

Maybe you’ve heard the story of Jesus Agudo and his son, Christopher. Christopher came to a point in his life where he had become very depressed, and decided to call it quits as he actually attempted to end his very life. Just 17 at the time, the first attempt to end his life failed, as he states, because the knot of his self-made noose unraveled, but yet he still planned on a second attempt. When that day came on April 10, 2010 that Jesus the father and his wife, Iliana received the text saying that their son was going to end it all, it broke Jesus as a father. “I never felt so much pain in my life,” Jesus recalls.

Four days later, a doctor pointed her index finger at Jesus and stated, “You need to surround your son with reasons to live for.” That's all that he heard from her at that moment, Jesus said. “‘Living Is So Big' was born right there and then in my mind.” It was an epiphany inspired by love and desperation to help his son. Jesus registered and then created a living is so big website ( asking family, friends and strangers to post their priceless reasons why they choose to live their life.

At that point in his life, the 4-word phrase (Living Is So Big) helped turned Chris' mindset around from a dark moment to a bright moment in his life. That led Jesus and Chris to embark on a father and son campaign to spread the power of life appreciation.

Now, at this point in their lives, Jesus and Chris continue to speak at high schools, universities and businesses across the United States.

What’s next? Jesus and Christopher have been challenged by John Armstrong to grow their beards to honor the bearded ones across the globe. John is the president of the organization called “Beard Team Kansas” of which has raised funds in the past for Living Is So Big, to have them reach the schools and speak to the kids around the nation. ...

In return, CEO Christopher Agudo had challenged John Armstrong to a LISB (Living Is So Beard) challenge. This challenge entails the eating of some form of sloppy food that just makes a true mess on their beard. The thing is, truly devoted bearded ones dis-like the idea of getting their beard messy via food intake. If the challenge is not met, they could opt to donate to their “Reaching the kids” campaign.

So what does this story have to do with you? Maybe nothing; maybe a lot.

All Jesus and Chris can do is share what they have discovered through their amazing experiences from others sharing their priceless thoughts about living life. They both hope to share that you can do anything if you put your mind to it—if you have a heartbeat you have a purpose. There are certainly lessons that we all can apply. There’s so much more we can take from this inspirational story.

Here are the “Eight Core Realizations” that we can learn from Jesus and Christopher Agudo. They created and utilize this very method to continue spreading Life Appreciation and growing their cause “Living Is So Big.”

1. Possible. That anything is able to be done within your mindset. There is no room for doubt or impossibilities. The idea does exist and it too can be made into a reality.
2. Attitude. Your behavior is everything. The current state of vibe matters to ensure you continue on what is possible. To utilize your best energy that can only further your idea.
3. Challenge. Despite any difficulties or obstacles one may encounter. We must see this as an ultimate challenge and own it! Take this challenge head on without any fear because we know it is possible and our attitude is helping.
4. Transformation. To make any necessary changes. Find other ways to get around those annoying difficulties or obstacles. All is possible with the right attitude even with challenges. We can and will transform when needed.
5. Best. Just apply your best of excellence! Simply put… do your best of capabilities when getting ready to follow through on what you know is possible.
6. Execute. Complete your idea by applying your best. Carry it out and follow through. An idea will only be an idea unless you put forth your time and energy to complete and reap the satisfaction.
7. Achievement. Great Feeling. Now that the idea is completed and done successfully, enjoy and saber the moment.
8. Limitless. You are not limited! There is not a single idea that cannot be achieved. Knowing this allows you to continue to repeat the steps on newly created ideas. In essence returning you back to step one.
